CFRP specializes in child and family policy research at the LBJ School of Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin. The group is also part of the LBJ School’s Center for Health and Social Policy (CHASP).
CFRP conducts a full range of qualitative and quantitative research with the aim to bridge research and policy specializing in the areas of early childhood intervention, adolescent development, and family strengthening.
Dr. Cynthia Osborne, an Associate Professor at the LBJ School of Public Affairs, is the director of CFRP. Since she joined the LBJ School faculty in 2005, Dr. Osborne has partnered with government agencies and non-profit organizations to address a variety of relevant policy issues impacting families in the state of Texas and across the U.S. As Dr. Osborne’s work expanded, so has her team. She now leads a fantastic group of postdoctoral fellows, staff research associates, graduate research assistants, and program staff at CFRP and LBJ.
